Sometimes referred to as “Ho Leaf” oil, Ravintsara means “leaf” or “good leaf” in Madagascar where the Malagasy people use the leaves and oil to treat stomach aches, headaches, colds and congestion. It is considered to be antiviral with an affinity for the respiratory system.
It has a fresh, clean, and powerfully camphoraceous aroma with sweet, slightly eucalyptus-like undertones — bright, penetrating, and deeply medicinal. Often called the "oil that heals" in Madagascar, where it has a long tradition of therapeutic use.
