Sage
Salvia officinalis

It has a sharp, herbaceous, and camphoraceous aroma with warm, slightly spicy, and medicinal undertones — bold, assertive, and distinctly different from the softer Clary Sage. Powerful and unmistakably herbal.
A strong, dominant middle note — use with intention and restraint in blending. Pairs with top notes like Lavender, Bergamot, or Rosemary, and base notes like Cedarwood, Frankincense, or Vetiver. Valued for its clarifying, antimicrobial, and hormone-influencing properties in therapeutic blending.
⚠️ Important safety note — this one warrants prominent cautions: Sage (S. officinalis) contains significant thujone, making it one of the more hazardous oils in common use. It should be avoided during pregnancy, by those with epilepsy, high blood pressure, or estrogen-dependent conditions, and should not be used with children.
