Thymus vulgaris thymoliferum

It has a sharp, warm, herbaceous, and intensely medicinal aroma — bold, spicy, and powerfully antiseptic. The most commonly available and most potent of the thyme chemotypes, with a dominant, assertive character that commands respect in both blending and safety.
Use sparingly in blends — its intensity can easily overpower. Best as an accent note in therapeutic formulations rather than a featured aromatic. Primarily valued for its exceptional antimicrobial, immune-boosting, and respiratory properties.
⚠️ Important safety note: ct. thymol is a significant skin irritant and sensitizer — avoid on sensitive or damaged skin, during pregnancy, and with children.
