A strong anti-infectious essential oil containing milder constituents that make this chemotype of Thyme the superior choice for topical application. It is not as hot as the thymol variety. One traditional recipe blends this oil with Myrtle essential oil to calm spasmodic coughs.
It has a warm, sweet, herbaceous, and softly floral aroma — gentle, pleasant, and far more approachable than the sharp, phenolic ct. thymol. The mildest and most skin-friendly of the thyme chemotypes, and the one most recommended for everyday aromatherapy use.
